compacto ( compendio) de los cruceros y INFORMES del ente<BR>cientifico IMARPE ,
de tal manera que podamos ver la radiografia del recurso<BR>y lo mas
sorprendente es que las condiciones climaticas son las que deciden
la<BR>presencia del recurso merluza , asi lo demuestran las estadisticas
provinientes<BR>de los cruceros realizados hasta la fecha :<BR>Me permito darte
esta primicia afin de tener un mejor horizonte de trabajo y<BR>de indice
biologico asi mismo de las perpectivas de comercio que tanta falta le<BR>hacen a
un pais como el nuestro.<BR>La captura RESPONSABLE dle recurso provee de mas de
8000 puestos de trabajo<BR>en la zona de Paita ,asi mismo de mas de 10,000
indirectos , la paralizacion de<BR>esta pesca por ende arrebata estos
puestso de trabajo en las epocas de veda y<BR>cierre de zonas pero que son
necesarias para su recuperacion.<BR>Para no demorar te envio el INFORME ytu

ecosistema demersal en la zona norte del Perú. La merluza, al igual que otras
especies demersales del mundo, ha sufrido una notoria disminución de su talla
promedio de captura.</FONT></FONT></P>

verano de 1992, ocurrió una fuerte variación de talla y ésta no se debió a una
sobrepesca, sino coincidió con un cambio brusco de las condiciones
oceanográficas. Del año 1991 al año1992, la talla promedio de la merluza tuvo
una significativa disminución de aproximadamente de <st1:metricconverter
ProductID="8 a" w:st="on">8 a</st1:metricconverter> <st1:metricconverter
ProductID="10 cm" w:st="on">10 cm</st1:metricconverter>.</FONT></P>

oceanográfico, se produjo una variación notable de las especies que conforman el
ecosistema demersal, apareciendo un importante volumen de la especie predadora
de merluza, la pota, y disminuyendo la biomasa de una de sus principales presas
como fue el caso de la sardina.</FONT></P>

tiene un régimen de cuotas individuales no transferibles, es la especie merluza,
lo cual ha permitido que se reduzca el esfuerzo pesquero sobre dicha especie.
Asimismo, la merluza tiene veda por desove o por abundante presencia de
juveniles en algunas zonas de pesca.</FONT></P>

reportaba la relación entre las zonas de distribución de merluza y el contenido
de oxígeno disuelto cerca al fondo del mar. Si bien la relación existe, es mejor
relacionar las variaciones en velocidad y profundidad del núcleo de
<st1:PersonName ProductID="la Corriente Cromwell" w:st="on"><st1:PersonName
ProductID="la Corriente" w:st="on">la Corriente</st1:PersonName>
Cromwell</st1:PersonName> al oeste de Galápagos (0ºN 110ºW) y<SPAN

Peruana</st1:PersonName> 1 o 2 meses después, cuando llega la extensión sur del
ramal costero de <st1:PersonName ProductID="la Corriente Cromwell"

distribución del recurso merluza frente a <st1:PersonName

<st1:PersonName ProductID="la Corriente Cromwell" w:st="on"><st1:PersonName
ProductID="la Corriente" w:st="on">la Corriente</st1:PersonName>
Cromwell</st1:PersonName> es débil en velocidad, y el núcleo poco profundo,
<st1:PersonName ProductID="la ESRCCCr" w:st="on">la ESRCCCr</st1:PersonName>
llega muy débil a Perú, escaseando el oxígeno en el fondo marino, lo que influye
para que la merluza migre hacia el Ecuador (en especial los ejemplares más
grandes) o se haga pelágica y predominen tallas más pequeñas. </FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><o:p><FONT

introduce un máximo de temperatura, salinidad (a veces en forma de núcleo) y de
oxígeno Disuelto, haciendo un ambiente propicio para el ecosistema
demersal.</FONT></FONT></P>

face="Times New Roman" size=3>Cuando ocurre El Niño, varios meses previos del
fuerte calentamiento frente a Perú, <st1:PersonName
ProductID="la Corriente Cromwell" w:st="on"><st1:PersonName
ProductID="la Corriente" w:st="on">la Corriente</st1:PersonName>
Cromwell</st1:PersonName> se intensifica y su núcleo se profundiza al oeste de
Galápagos, de manera que <st1:PersonName ProductID="la ESRCCCr" w:st="on">la
ESRCCCr</st1:PersonName> llega a Perú con mucha intensidad y amplia el área de
distribución de la merluza hacia el sur y hacia la profundidad. En El Niño 97-98
en un día de abril alcanzó la velocidad máxima de 243 cm/s y el promedio del mes
de abril fue de 190 cm/s en su núcleo que se observa en promedio a
<st1:metricconverter ProductID="80 m" w:st="on">80 m</st1:metricconverter> de
profundidad; esto es, cerca de 3.8 nudos. <st1:PersonName
ProductID="la Corriente Cromwell" w:st="on"><st1:PersonName
ProductID="la Corriente" w:st="on">La Corriente</st1:PersonName>
Cromwell</st1:PersonName> se intensifica los meses de abril, mayo y junio,
tendiendo abril a ser el mes de máxima intensidad. Por dicha razón, la biomasa
que se estime en cruceros realizados en los meses de junio o julio será por lo
general superior a la estimada en enero o febrero.</FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><o:p><FONT

face="Times New Roman" size=3>En febrero de 1992 ocurrió una intensificación y
profundización del núcleo de <st1:PersonName ProductID="la CCr" w:st="on">la
CCr</st1:PersonName> , pero ésta fue de muy pocos días y <st1:PersonName
ProductID="la CCr" w:st="on">la CCr</st1:PersonName> alcanzó una velocidad de
cerca de 200 cm/s a <st1:metricconverter ProductID="105 m" w:st="on">105
m</st1:metricconverter> de profundidad, habiendo casi triplicado su velocidad en
menos de 4 días y luego disminuido bruscamente también la velocidad en pocos
días. </FONT></P>

face="Times New Roman" size=3>Cambios bruscos de las condiciones oceanográficas
han producido cambios en la abundancia de otras especies. Por ejemplo en 1992 se
observó una abundancia de pota de gran tamaño, lo que se volvió a observar 2
años después de finalizado El Niño 97-98. Actualmente continúa la abundancia de
pota, la cual es una especie predadora de merluza y otras especies.</FONT></P>

se observó la brusca desaparición de la especie sardina, especie que era la
presa preferida de la merluza con tallas mayores de 40 cms de longitud, además
del canibalismo (Castillo et al 1995).</FONT></P>

entre el año 2005 hasta el año 2008, se aprecia que los stocks de merluza en el
verano son inferiores a los de otoño (en el año 2008 no se publicó la biomasa de
verano), así mismo se ve que hubo una disminución del stock en el año 2006 sin
embargo el recurso se recuperó rápidamente al año siguiente y se mantuvo estable
en el 2008. Esto debido al buen manejo del recurso realizado por PRODUCE con el
apoyo técnico científico del IMARPE.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>

Se consideraron los cruceros de verano del 2005 al 2008 y el crucero de invierno
del 2008. También hay que mencionar que los datos del 2005 y el 2007 son
aproximados, ya que en el caso del 2005 el informe no ha sido publicado en
Internet y el 2007 no muestra una tabla con los datos obtenidos en ese

las dos figuras (temperatura y oxígeno disuelto) durante el otoño la corriente
de Cromwell se intensifica y durante los meses de primavera disminuye su
velocidad. Esto se aprecia en las gráficas de temperatura, siguiendo la isoterma
de <st1:metricconverter ProductID="15ﾺC" w:st="on">15ºC</st1:metricconverter> y
en oxígeno disuelto tomando como limitante la isoxígena de 0.5 mg/L. con estos
parámetros se puede definir el área de distribución de la merluza. En el verano
del 2006 se aprecia bajos valores de oxígeno disuelto, así como también que la
isoterma de <st1:metricconverter ProductID="15ﾺC"
w:st="on">15ºC</st1:metricconverter> llega hasta los 7.5º de latitud sur, como
consecuencia se observaron muy bajas concentraciones de merluza en ese periodo;
en el otoño del mismo año se intensifica <st1:PersonName ProductID="la Cromwell"
w:st="on">la Cromwell</st1:PersonName> y se aprecia una recuperación parcial del
recurso, durante todo el 2007 se aprecia que la corriente de Cromwell se
mantiene más intensa que el 2006, lo que contribuye a la recuperación del
recurso. En el año 2008 durante el verano la corriente Cromwell pierde
intensidad lo cual se explica con los bajos valores de oxígeno disuelto y la
isoterma de <st1:metricconverter ProductID="15ﾺC"
w:st="on">15ºC</st1:metricconverter> que se ubica sobre los 7.5º de latitud sur
(al igual que el verano del 2006). Esto, aunque no existen datos oficiales de
biomasa, pudo haber hecho de que los cardúmenes de merluza se dispersaran. Por
último se ve que en otoño del 2008 hay una gran intensificación de
<st1:PersonName ProductID="la Corriente Cromwell" w:st="on"><st1:PersonName

Cromwell</st1:PersonName> con una gran oxigenación en el fondo inclusive

tal como se aprecia en el gráfico correspondiente, en este se aprecia una caída
significativa del recurso en el año 2006, pero rápidamente se recupera al año
siguiente, esto debido en gran parte a un eficiente manejo del recurso por parte
de PRODUCE con el apoyo técnico científico del IMARPE. Esta recuperación del
recurso se confirma en el 2008, en donde nuevamente se observa un ligero

merluza, que existe en una milla náutica cuadrada, según los resultados
obtenidos luego del descenso del 2006 (6.7 TM/mn2), se ve claramente que el
recurso se recupera hasta alcanzar casi las 32 TM/mn2 en el

variables oceanográficas que definen el área de distribución de la merluza.
Principalmente el alto contenido de oxígeno disuelto en el fondo del mar se

labor constante de recuperación del recurso merluza, aunque hay que recalcar que

llegado a cumplir sus cuotas de pesca, esto debido a las continuas decisiones de
cerrar zonas de pesca y limitando con vedas biológicas su accionar. Sin embargo
