Unidad de Patrimonio de la I. M. de Viña del Mar y la carrera de Ecoturismo de
la Universidad Andrés Bello realizarán desde el jueves 11 hasta el domingo 14
de noviembre el 3° Festival de Aves de Chile, cuyo eje central en esta ocasión
es “La ciudad como espacio de acogida a las aves migratorias”. La
inauguración del Festival será este jueves 11 de noviembre a las 19:30 horas en
el Hotel O'Higgins de Viña del Mar.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Verdana'>Durante los cuatro días los
amantes de las aves podrán disfrutar de un extenso programa que contempla
conferencias, excursiones, exhibiciones, exposiciones, concursos, feria,
circuitos urbanos, actividades infantiles, talleres y charlas en el Castillo
Wulff, Museo Artequin Viña del Mar, Parque Quinta Vergara, Universidad Andrés
Bello campus Los Castaños y Hotel San Martín. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Verdana'>En esta ocasión, el IFOP
participará en el marco del proyecto del Depto. de Evaluación de
Pesquerías: “Implementación de un programa de formación de observadores
científicos para la evaluación de interacción de aves marinas en pesquerías
palangreras y arrastreras demersales en la zona sur austral de Chile”, a
cargo del investigador, Sr. Jorge Azocar R. El Instituto se presentará en un
stand conjunto con la Subsecretaría de Pesca, mostrando las actividades
realizadas por el proyecto y, especialmente, el laboratorio de taxidermia
de aves, en el que participan los Sres. Gastón Rosson V., Luis Adasme M. de IFOP
y, Mariano Bernal, de la U. de Valparaíso. El lema del proyecto es:
“Por la conservación y la pesca responsable, evitemos la
captura incidental de nuestras aves marinas”.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
