se realizó en IFOP en Valparaíso una interesante charla cuyo expositor
fue el ingeniero Ernesto Godelman "Certificación de pesquerías y la
evaluación de riesgo ecológico de los efectos de la pesca".</span></font><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><font size=2 face=Verdana><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Verdana'>Ante
numerosos investigadores, el especialista dictó la charla sobre un tema que
es relevante hoy por hoy, especialmente cuando los procesos de certificación
de las pesquerías serán cada vez más frecuentes, dada las exigencias de los
mercados externos. Se describieron los métodos de evaluación de riesgo de las
pesquerías en que se miden 5 componentes ecológicos, lo que constituye una
aproximación operativa para la aplicación del enfoque ecosistémico en la
investigación y gestión.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p><font size=2 face=Verdana><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Verdana'>La
Evaluación de riesgo ecológico de los efectos de la pesca (ERAEP o ERAEF: <span
class=SpellE>Ecological</span> <span class=SpellE>Risk</span> <span
class=SpellE>Assesements</span> <span class=SpellE>for</span> <span
class=SpellE>effects</span> <span class=SpellE>of</span> Fisheries),
identifica cada uno de los componentes de la pesquería en estudio: la especie
objetivo y otras especies que son capturadas, como también el <span
class=SpellE>habitat</span> y las comunidades donde se desempeñan,
identificando un objetivo general por componente, y <span class=SpellE>sub</span>-componentes,
definidos por ciertos indicadores, obteniendo puntajes diferenciados, los que
en su conjunto llegan a determinar el "riesgo ecológico" de la
pesquería que se trate y por tanto un cierto estatus indicativo que la caracterizará
en adelante.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

Presidente de CeDePesca (Centro Desarrollo y Pesca Sustentable), desde hace
