medio acuático marino y continental; así como para administrar los procesos de producción, procesamiento y comercialización de los productos hidrobiológicos, agua y suelo. <BR><BR>Las funciones del Biólogo Acuicultor, son las siguientes:<BR><BR>-Estudiar y evaluar las zonas marinas y cuerpos de agua de aguas continentales, con el propósito de determinar su factibilidad de aprovechamiento mediante cultivos.<BR><BR>-Planifica, administra, dirige, procesa y comercializa los cultivos de organismos acuáticos, como: peces, crustáceos, moluscos y algas.<BR><BR>-Diseña y construye sistemas de cultivos acuáticos que optimicen la productividad del recurso hidrobiológico en explotación.<BR><BR>-Planifica, organiza, desarrolla, evalúa y controla unidades de producción acuícola.<BR><BR>-Realizar labores de docencia en investigación en universidades e institutos superiores que forman personal especializado en estas
disciplinas. <BR><BR>Mientras el Ingeniero Pesquero, es un profesional capaz de aplicar las ciencias y el método científico al estudio, evaluación, discusión y solución de los problemas tecnológico-económicos derivados de las actividades relacionadas con los recursos pesqueros, su explotación, desarrollo, conservación, procesamiento, comercialización y administración. <BR><BR>Su área profesional, se da en las empresas pesqueras, en las áreas de extracción, procesamiento y comercialización de productos pesqueros. <BR><BR>Estimados colegas, debemos considerar, que la acuicultura, se presenta, como una alternativa promisora para la obtención de proteínas de origen animal o vegetal, aptas para el consumo humano, y, también, como medida preventiva de protección a recursos hidrobiológicos, que vienen siendo sometidos a una intensa actividad extractiva, enfocando a ésta actividad, de manera interdisciplinaria, puesto que
