Santisteban, tengo entendido que el Sistema de Seguimiento Satelital, al igual que en otros países, fue implementado como una herramienta para que los organismos de supervisión y control como PRODUCE y DICAPI, puedan verificar donde están operando las embarcaciones pesqueras. En el caso de la flota industrial principalmente, para controlar que no opere dentro de las 5mn, (zona reservada únicamente para la pesquería artesanal); más aun ahora que se han implementado las cuotas (DL1084), puede ser<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>una buena herramienta de control. De igual forma para que la flota de arrastre, dedicada a la extracción de merluza por ejemplo, operen al norte o al sur de los 05 grados de LS (por decir un paralelo) como se hacía cuando se apertura la pesca o a cierta distancia de la costa. Lo mismo para embarcaciones extranjeras (extracción de pota, atún, etc).<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></STRONG></P>

Incluso pueden hacer uso del PSION, para enviar información desde la embarcación.<o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></STRONG></SPAN></P>

A la fecha ha disminuido a menos de una hora la frecuencia de paso de los satélites por nuestra zona. <o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></STRONG></P>
