Nilo Gatica, ex-Jefe de Relaciones Corporativas de IFOP, con más de 25 años
de desempeño en el Instituto, ha sido nombrado representante de Chile a cargo
de la Dirección de Asuntos Científicos de la Comisión Permanente del Pacífico
Sur (CPPS).</span></font></p><p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;"><br></span></font></p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;">La
CPPS es un organismo regional <span class="Object" id="OBJ_PREFIX_DWT5138">mar</span>ítimo (<span class="Object" id="OBJ_PREFIX_DWT5139"><a href="http://www.cpps-int.org/" target="_blank">http://www.cpps-int.org</a></span>
) que está formado por sus 4 Estados Miembros: Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, y Perú
y tiene su sede en la ciudad de Guayaquil, Ecuador, ciudad donde Marcelo debe
asumir a contar del próximo <span class="Object" id="OBJ_PREFIX_DWT5140">11 de marzo</span> del año en curso.<br><br></span></font><p><em><i><font size="2" face="Verdana"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;">Sergio Marcelo Nilo Gatica</span></font></i></em><font size="2" face="Verdana"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;">, es
Economista (1981) de la <span class="SpellE">Northern</span> Virginia Community
College (NVCC-UVA), University of Virginia en USA. Con cursos de
especialización en evaluación social de proyectos en la PUC en 1994, entre
otros cursos y seminarios del área de la economía y las pesquerías. En
Estados Unidos también ejerció como profesor auxiliar en la NVCC, entre 1979
y 1981.</span></font></p><p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;"><br></span></font></p>
<p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;">En
IFOP se inició como Investigador del área de economía, de la entonces,
División de Aprovechamiento de IFOP en Santiago (1983-1988); luego fue
coordinador del área económica del proyecto Sistema de Información Pesquera
(SIP-CORFO) e integrante del proyecto SIPRO (1990-1991), analizando las
tendencias globales y estratégicas futuras del sector. También fue Director
Alterno de proyectos emblemáticos como el Centro de Servicios Pesqueros
(CESEPE-FONDEF: 1994-1997); y Metales Pesados en Bivalvos de Exportación
(2000-2003; FDI-CORFO). Estuvo a cargo de la Sección Economía y de Asuntos
Internacionales de IFOP y durante todo su periodo de desempeño en IFOP,
lideró los aspectos económicos de los diferentes programas de diagnóstico y
seguimiento del estado de situación de los principales recursos pesqueros
chilenos. Para finalmente, desde el año 2002 a la fecha, actuar como
coordinador nacional del proyecto regional GEF-ONUDI “Manejo Integrado
del Gran Ecosistema Marino de la Corriente de <span class="SpellE">Humboldt</span>,
Chile-Perú. Al mismo tiempo, lideró y creó Relaciones Corporativas en IFOP en
el año 2007, desempeñándose en ese cargo hasta marzo 2011, al ser nombrado representante
de Chile, en la Dirección de Asuntos Científicos de la CPPS.</span></font></p>
