El Acuerdo Sobre la Conservación de Albatros y Petreles (<a href="http://www.acap.aq/" target="_blank">www.ACAP.aq</a>) es un acuerdo multilateral que
busca conservar los albatros y petreles a través de la coordinación de
actividades internacionales con el objeto de disminuir las amenazas ya
conocidas a las poblaciones de albatros y petreles, importantes aves marinas
presentes en las costas chilenas y muy amenazadas en ciertos países. <br></span></font></p><p class="MsoNormal"><font size="2" face="Verdana"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;"><br></span></font></p>
<p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;">Desde
el año 2007, Chile es miembro de este Acuerdo internacional y participa en
las reuniones del Comité Asesor (CA) y la reunión de las partes (<span class="SpellE">RdP</span>). El Comité Asesor, genera los elementos técnicos
para desarrollar las normativas de administración, ambas instancias se reúnen
anualmente.</span></font></p><p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;"><br></span></font></p>
<p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;">Para
la Sexta Reunión (CA6), fue elegida como sede la ciudad de Guayaquil,
Ecuador, y la reunión se desarrollará entre el lunes 29 de agosto y el
viernes 2 de septiembre de 2011. Previo a esta Reunión, se efectúa la
reunión de los Grupos de Trabajo, siendo el de captura secundaria
(Seabird Bycatch Working Group), donde IFOP colabora en forma activa,
generando y/o participando en la preparación de documentos cuyos
títulos son:</span></font></p>

delegación chilena que participará en la Sexta Reunión 2011, es
patrocinada por la Subsecretaría de Pesca y será la encargada de exponer a la
comunidad científica internacional, los avances obtenidos en el país y
la componen tres profesionales, Marcelo García (Subpesca), Javier Arata
(INACH) y Jorge Azócar (IFOP). </span></font></p>
