un par de años se ha venido diciendo que el Producto Bruto Interno (PBI), que
es el valor monetario de la producción de bienes y servicios finales de un país
durante un período de tiempo (normalmente un año) y es usado como una medida
del bienestar material de una sociedad, ha venido subiendo en América Latina de
manera notable. Incluso hasta se festeja como un gran logro de las economías
latinas en estos últimos años.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;

parte, el PBI per cápita o ingreso per cápita, es la relación que hay entre el
PBI del país y la cantidad de habitantes que lo habita. Para conseguirlo, hay
que dividir el PBI de un país entre la población de este. Es un indicador
comúnmente usado para estimar la riqueza económica de un país y lo
correlacionan con la calidad de vida de sus habitantes.</span></div>

para el 2010 se reporto que el Perú tuvo una variación superior en 8,8 % con
respecto al año anterior, resultando como líder a nivel de región frente a
otros países como Argentina 8,4%, Brasil 7,6 %, Chile 5.3 %, México 5.2 %,

vemos cómo el PBI per cápita reportado por la Agencia Central de Inteligencia
(CIA, por sus siglas en inglés) de los EE.UU. para 2010, muestra que el de
países como Brasil, México, Venezuela, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile y Perú, ronda

por año, respectivamente. ¡¡Ja!! Estas cifras no corresponden para nada con la
realidad económica de estos países, que mantienen a la mayoría de su población
en cifras reportadas como pobreza extrema, definida como: “las personas que no
pueden satisfacer varias de las necesidades básicas para vivir como alimento,
agua potable, techo, sanidad y cuidado de la salud”.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;
line-height:normal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";

que reconozcamos que este indicador económico reportado por la CIA, el Banco
Mundial, el Fondo Monetario Internacional y demás instituciones financieras y
económicas mundiales, es sin lugar a dudas, y aunque nos cueste trabajo
entenderlo, engañoso. La cruda realidad de millones de personas en estos países
no miente.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;
line-height:normal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";

hay otras medidas económicas, poco conocidas por la población, pero mucho más
eficientes para describir la realidad de la calidad de vida de las personas de
un país; aunque quizá su veracidad no es muy conveniente para los gobiernos en
turno, y mucho menos cuando se trata de atraer inversiones extranjeras. ¿Quién
quiere invertir en un país donde la mayoría no tiene ni para comer?</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;
line-height:normal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";

del PBI per cápita se basa en dos cambios estructurales de la población de los
países latinos: la reducción de la tasa de crecimiento de sus poblaciones y la
incorporación de más mujeres a la fuerza de trabajo. Menos niños en la
población es indicativo de que hay más personas trabajando que antes y esto
hace que el PBI crezca.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;
line-height:normal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";

trabajando indica que aún hay más personas trabajando en el total de la
población y esto también hace que el PBI crezca. Al mismo tiempo, estos países
reducen su tasa anual de crecimiento poblacional, lo cual quiere decir que el PBI
crece, pero la población no, y esto hace que el PBI per cápita crezca aún más.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;
line-height:normal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";

cápita en estos países ha subido, no por un aumento en la productividad, sino
porque más personas trabajan como porcentaje de la población total. En realidad
no es que las personas estén ganando más, sino que en cada hogar hay más gente
que trabaja y lleva un ingreso adicional; esta es la base del engaño, pero cada
una de estas personas gana el equivalente a lo que ganaba un trabajador hace
cuatro décadas.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;
line-height:normal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";

trabajador es un indicador económico mucho más preciso para indicar lo que se
lleva realmente el trabajador promedio a su casa en términos de ingresos; es el
resultado de dividir el ingreso total de la economía del país entre el número
de trabajadores. Los últimos reportes, por ejemplo, indican que en 2004 el PBI
por trabajador en México fue igual al de 1984 y al de 1969.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;

asombramos cuando escuchamos que el PBI per cápita de Perú se encuentra entre
los es de 10,000 dólares y al mismo tiempo volteamos a ver la calle en la
ciudad, o el campo en las áreas rurales, y no vemos ese dinero por ningún lado,
al tiempo que miles de personas buscan un ingreso de por lo menos 400 soles
mensuales, para seguir sobreviviendo.</span></div>

décadas perdidas, los creadores de las políticas de Estado para hacer crecer la
productividad del Pais y sobre todo del sector pesquero, sobre todo los de este
nuevo gobirno, deberían hacer una revisión de sus planes y propuestas y buscar
alternativas de desarrollo de la economía real y del sector. LA ACUICULTURA ES
UNA DE ELLAS.</span></div>
