Recordando ademas que hace 11 años atrás Perú gano un caso frente a la Union Europea, en la Organización Mundial de Comercio (OMC), demostrando que la anchoveta pertenecía al orden de los Clupleiformes (según la clasificación de Linneo), por lo que era un pariente de la Sardina, al estar en el mismo orden las familias CUPLEIDAE, ENGRAULIDAE, CHIROCENTRIDAE y PRISTIGASTERIDAE.
