Bangladesh Fish Workers' Alliance (BFWA) has recently organized a human chain
demanding fish workers' rights in Moheshkhali island of Cox's Bazar district.
Moheshkhali is the only island in Bangladesh with hills. Local wing of BFWA
organized the human chain with some specific demands like: minimum wages for
the fish workers, safety while fishing, appointment letter from the boat owners
etc. A mobilization of the fishworkers claiming legitimate demands in a remote
area like Moheshkhali is very rare in Bangladesh.  We have received huge
responses from the various stakeholders We are planning to organize local
mobilizations regularly.<br></span>
