calidad de jefe de mantenimiento y reparaciones de embarcaciones pesqueras
artesanales con casco de madera en Paita, he tenido la oportunidad de
evaluar y someter a reparación general en lo que va del año a 12 embarcaciones de
diferentes dimensiones, en su mayoría del tipo de menor escala.<o:p id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1464879077592_2890"></o:p></span></div><div style="margin: 6pt 0cm; text-align: justify; line-height: 16.8pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1464879077592_2891"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;mso-fareast-language:ES-PE" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1464879077592_2892">Esto
no es nada extraño porque las embarcaciones suelen vararse por carena
generalmente cada 10 o 12 meses; pero en esta oportunidad las embarcaciones se
han varado luego de haber transcurrido entre 12 y 15 meses desde su última
carena, especialmente las poteras. Según manifiestan sus armadores porque desde
hace año y medio están corriendo hacia el sur con resultados pocos alentadores
que no les permite hacer una carena normal sino llevar a la embarcación a su
extremo de tolerancia ya cuando la embarcación comenzó hacer agua.<o:p id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1464879077592_2893"></o:p></span></div><div style="margin: 6pt 0cm; text-align: justify; line-height: 16.8pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1464879077592_2894"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;mso-fareast-language:ES-PE" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1464879077592_2895">Además
que las muestras o poteras manuales ocasionan un gran daño al casco a nivel del
pantoque cuando se desliza la corona con varias púas como anzuelo ocasionando ralladuras
a su paso por las tablas con la consiguiente

desprotegido el casco sin pintura aparece la broma, molusco que ataca la madera
sumergida y la come formando cavidades en el interior de la madera. La broma tiene la concha reducida y
transformada en útil perforador, denominada normalmente "cabeza". Su
cuerpo está provisto por un extremo de una parte bífida, un sifón doble que
permite la circulación y la filtración del agua de mar, taladra la madera
sumergida difícil de identificar, el cual es usado para la entrada inicial del

paredes de la galería que excava están solidificadas por una fina secreción
blanca calcárea, que forma un tubo de 20 a 30 cm, lo cual le permite vivir

8 meses de navegación aproximadamente la embarcación comienza sentirse pescada
por la presencia de choros y otras incrustaciones marinas, esto obliga al armador
contratar a un buzo para que limpie el casco con una rasqueta, esto también ayuda

bien, como lo sucedido en una de las embarcaciones luego de haber transcurrido
1 año y 5 meses desde su última carena se observa la presencia de gran cantidad
de broma en el casco y por lo tanto se tienen que cambiar 15 tablas en la obra
