<p>Ceará, Brasil.-  Prefeitura de Fortaleza, por medio del Instituto José Frota (IJF) en convenio con el Instituto de Apoio ao Queimado (IAQ) y el Núcleo de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento de Medicamentos (NPDM) de la Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC), presentó los resultados de la primera fase clínica de la investigación pionera que utiliza la piel de tilapia para el tratamiento de quemaduras. La investigación se inició hace dos años y medio, contando con 11 etapas pre-clínicas.</p>

<p>Irlanda.- El pescado es un componente esencial de las dietas en todo el mundo y puede proveer nutrientes esenciales para una dieta saludable. Debido a que la necesidad por un abastecimiento estable de alimentos emerge con el incremento de la población mundial la acuicultura se ha convertido en una de las industria de más rápido crecimiento en el mundo. Actualmente, sin embargo, un número importante de poblaciones de peces se pierden debido a las infecciones. Microsynbiotix tiene como objetivo el solucionar este problema mediante microalgas modificadas genéticamente para producir vacunas y terapéuticos contra las infecciones bacterianas de los peces.</p>
