<p>Por Dioreleytte Valis<br>Loma Bonita, México (Agencia Informativa Conacyt).- Para favorecer a productores y consumidores de la tilapia del Nilo (<strong><em>Oreochromis niloticus</em></strong>), el investigador Juan Pablo Alcántar Vázquez, de la Universidad del Papaloapan (Unpa), propone la utilización de los “<strong>supermachos</strong>” o “machos YY” producidos por cruzas, y de esta manera evitar el alto suministro de hormonas para la masculinización o feminización de peces.</p>

<p>Brasil.- La cadena productiva de peces cultivados movió R$4,3 mil millones durante el 2016. En el mismo período, el país produjo 640,52 mil toneladas de pescado, sin incluir los camarones y la pesca marina. Además, Brasil importó cerca de 500 mil toneladas de pescado en filete para satisfacer la demanda interna.</p>

<p>España (Agencia SINC).- Investigadores de la Universidad de Burgos han desarrollado un polímero fluorescente que se ilumina en contacto con el mercurio que pueda llevar el pescado. En muestras de pez espada y atún se han detectado niveles altos de este metal tóxico, que en embarazadas se asocia a reducciones del crecimiento fetal y de la placenta, según concluye otro estudio español.</p>
