<p>Santiago de Compostela.- España es el segundo país productor de <strong>ostra plana</strong> europea (<strong><em>Ostrea edulis</em></strong>) del continente europeo, con un total de 427 toneladas en el 2014 y un valor de EUR2,2 millones. La sobreexplotación, la importación masiva de semilla de otros países y el descenso progresivo de la captación de la semilla en el medio natural propiciaron que la producción de ostras se reduzca a la mitad en los últimos 10 años.</p>

<p>Bolivia.- En el entendido de que toda explotación de los recursos naturales renovables, debe estar sustentada en estudios de investigación científica, es que en el año 1981 se creó el Centro de Investigación de Recursos Acuáticos (CIRA) dependiente de la Universidad Autónoma del Beni (UAB). Hoy en día, el museo del CIRA cuenta con 330 especies de colección en exhibición y una base de datos de ictiología con un registro de 430 especies. Esto lo pone como uno de los museos más completos de Bolivia.</p>

<p>Asunción, Paraguay.- Fruto del esfuerzo y un gran sueño para todos los productores acuícolas del país que puede cambiar el paradigma de la producción sustentable de alimentos en el Paraguay, fue calificado el apoyo del gobierno del presidente Horacio Cartes a la actividad acuícola nacional, que en pocos años ha mejorado ingresos y el nivel de vida de centenares de familias rurales.</p>
