En el norte desde Huacho a Salaverry la temperatura llega a 21°C pero fuera de las 30 millas marinas siendo la pesca de la pota esporádica con descargas ente 2 y 10 ton. En Paita la temperatura del agua registra en estos momentos 18°C (información proveniente de las barcos artesanales a la fecha).
