color:#333333'>El Ministerio del Ambiente (Minam) presentó esta tarde el Primer
Mapa Nacional de Ecosistemas, gracias al cual se podrá identificar y
representar la distribución espacial de los ecosistemas naturales continentales
a escala nacional, manifestó el viceministro de Desarrollo estratégico de los
Recursos Naturales, Gabriel Quijandría.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style='mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:7.5pt;
margin-left:0in;line-height:22.5pt;background:#FDFDFD;box-sizing: inherit'><span
lang=ES style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#333333'>Indicó que esta
herramienta técnica contribuirá en la gestión y monitoreo de los territorios,
las especies que albergan y los genes que contienen, así como sus servicios
ecosistémicos.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

nos pone a nivel de otros países que cuentan con instrumentos de gestión para
la toma de decisiones en materia ambiental. “Este mapa genera información
a un nivel de mayor detalle para poder decidir dónde hacer actividades de
conservación y dónde hacer actividades productivas, o donde es más factible hacerlas”,
comentó.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

director general de Diversidad Biológica del Minam, José Álvarez, manifestó que
la importancia de este trabajo técnico multisectorial radica en la
identificación y mapeo de 36 ecosistemas continentales del territorio nacional:
11 para la región de selva tropical, 3 para la región yunga, 11 para la región
andina, 9 para la región costa y 2 ecosistemas acuáticos.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style='mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:7.5pt;
margin-left:0in;line-height:22.5pt;background:#FDFDFD;box-sizing: inherit'><span
lang=ES style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#333333'>Asimismo,
sostuvo que este Mapa Nacional de Ecosistemas fue elaborado a una escala de
1/100 000, y que cubrirá la necesidad de conocer, definir y ubicar
espacialmente la biodiversidad y los ecosistemas. “Este Primer Mapa
Nacional de Ecosistemas es una herramienta valiosa que entre otras cosas nos
permitirá determinar tendencias sobre el estado de la diversidad biológica y
contribuir a su conservación y uso sostenible”, añadió.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

que dicho instrumento contribuirá a mejorar la toma de decisiones para la
gestión del territorio, que pueden servir, por ejemplo, para ayudar a prevenir
o mitigar los desastres naturales causados por eventos climáticos extremos.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

está ocurriendo la pérdida de biodiversidad a tasas nunca antes vistas en la
historia de la humanidad. Casi un millón de especies se enfrentan a la
extinción; si no cambiamos fundamentalmente nuestra relación con el mundo
natural, esto ocasionará la desaparición de oportunidades de bienestar y
desarrollo de la población.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
