Kolkata: Ponds and wetlands are under siege. Every day a new pond is being
filled up in the city and peri urban areas with total disregard for the
acts and rules against the aggression. Why so? The state government doesn't
have an inventory of waterbodies and wetlands in the state, and doesn't
have a clue to enforce the law...

*Odisha: Odisha CM hails role of cooperatives to consolidate the rural

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patanik hails the role of
cooperatives to consolidate the rural economy.  He said this during the

Gujarat: Pakistan arrests 33 Indian fishermen*

Karachi — Pakistan on Monday arrested 33 Indian fishermen, weeks after it
announced the release of all jailed Indian fishermen as a goodwill gesture,
a statement said. The fishermen along with five fishing boats were held
Monday evening by Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency (MSA) in the
country's territorial waters in the Arabian Sea during routine patrols, it
said in a statement...

fishermen of Sunamganj the life they were meant to have but have long been
denied.  The wind of change was heralded by a project, Community-Based
Resource Management Project (CBRMP) of the Local Government Division,
allowing the fishermen in the Haor areas to take wetlands in the district
on lease...

*Pakistan: 46 fishermen released from India share tales of misery*

Karachi: There were tears, hugs and the joy of family reunions in the air
as the Karachi Fish Harbour welcomed back 46 fishermen recently released
from Indian jails. Having had their first proper meal after months in
Lahore and being handed over to Pakistan authorities at Wagah soon after
that, the men boarded a coach which brought them to Karachi on Saturday
