GADVASU, amidst much fanfare in 2008, students were promised jobs at the

with DSP Vijakumar and checked the boats...

27 should be released prior to the March 13 talks...

Development of fisheries sector & welfare of fishermen:

   - The outlay provided for fisheries sector and welfare of fishermen
   during 2014-15 is Rs.177.40 crore, which is 12 % higher than the outlay
   during 2013-14.
   - It is proposed to establish Model Fish Farms and innovative acqua
   culture practices for increasing the inland fish production. An amount of
   Rs.5 crore is set apart for this.
   - An amount of Rs.1 crore will be provided for the start up activities
   of the establishment of fishing harbour at Parappanangadi.
   - Fisheries villages of Vizhinjam,Pulluvila will be included in the
   model fisheries village project.
   - A new scheme will be implemented for giving production bonus to the
   fishermen so as to make increase in production and there by increase their
   income. An amount of Rs.2 crore will be provided for this.
   - An amount of Rs.5 crore will be provided for replacing the old
   machinery, in a phased manner, in the net manufacturing factory in
   Ernakulam.

up to 7 to 8 kilometres of mangrove forests and adjoining mudflats along

Vashi and Airoli bridges and will exclude the main creek...

Thailand has a long-standing problem with human trafficking. Migrants from
Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos are conscripted into its seafood industry.
Areport out today from the Environmental Justice Foundation suggests that,
despite increasing international pressure and Thai government attention,
it's still happening. EJF found that industry operators are just working
harder to avoid detection...
