Saludos amigos,

 

I am giving a reaction on an article of Mr Carlos Chuquin in Oannes list
from already 28/06/'18 because this matter is very important and has to be
followed up.

Our fishing expert mr Jesus Veliz expressed that apart from the very
important industrial fleet, fishing mainly for fish-meal and oil production
,(very important this products for Peru,being number 1 producer in the world
and exporting all over the world!) for.human consumption we have to support
the Artisanal and Minor Scale vessel owners by:

1/ give them the freedom to fish the year around for all species to make
them able to land permanently fort he fresh market and the canning/freezing
factories, out of 1,5 nautical miles.

2/ 10.000 men and women are working in this sector now ,while with the right
maesurements this number can easy become double.

3/ Under the government of President Martin it will be necessary to give
more tolerance to the owners of the vessels in case of sizes for a new
modern fleet ,Fishing For Food .

4/ Jesus Veliz  will be very helpful as he "pronounced in favour of the
modernization of Artisanal fleet and of Minor Scale vessels ,bound for human
consumption, to allow extention !

 

I trust that in the interest of Peru this issue will have priority as from
tomorrow !
