 I wish you successful celebrations of our shared ocean.

 Today, the World Ocean Network representatives are participating in
the
 official inauguration of the 50th anniversary of the
Intergovernmental
 Oceanographic Commission that is held in UNESCO headquarters in
Paris. They
 present there declarations by youth forums and parliaments for the
ocean and
 distribute the Passport of the Citizen of the Ocean to the
attendees.
 Today the Passport of the Citizen of the Ocean in Russian is
distributed in
 Vladivostok for the first time. 
 Please tell us about your festivities in honour of the world’s
oceans in
 2010 by sending information and visual materials to
 info en worldoceannetwork.org . We will promote them on our website and
present
 them at the Global Forum on Oceans, Coasts and Islands events in the
 framework of the informal consultative process of the law of the sea
in the
 UN headquarters in the end of June.
 I am taking this opportunity to encourage you to prolong the World
Oceans
 Day festivities and participate in the Cap Rouge Day 2010 on June
11th, the
 initiative of Lighthouse Foundation and partners to commemorate
Captain
 Jacques Yves Cousteau's 100th anniversary:
 If you care for the Oceans, 
 If you care about the future,
 Wear a red cap on June 11.
