fisheries struggle to breed fingerlings (a young or small fish) during

method that makes fish farming in greenhouses possible...

providing compensation to the fish workers whose stake nets were damaged in
relation with the Vallarpadam project...

Contractors with the civic body found dumping garbage by Gurupura river.
Little by little, since June, the Gurupura river bank at Bangra Kuloor has
become a sort of dumping ground, with tonnes of mud, tree stumps, tyres,
plastics being strewn by the river. Apart from the violation of the Coastal
Regulation Zone (CRZ) rules, what is surprising is that some of the dumping
is by contractors working for the Mangalore City Corporation itself...

The 337 Indian fishermen, who were released from Pakistan on Friday, were
given a rousing welcome when they arrived at Palanpur in Banaskantha

spreading salinity ingress along the Gujarat coastline thanks to unchecked
development activities.  It needs more than a Gandhian effort to rid
Gujarat of its salt scourge. While the pinch of salt made over 70 years ago
at an obscure place on the coast had rattled the British Empire, the
ongoing salt invasion along the entire coastline of Gujarat has the
potential to unsettle the masses without any forewarning...

The ministry of environment and forests has issued a 'fins naturally
attached' policy requiring fisheries to land sharks in coastal states with
their fins intact. The policy is a strong tool in the fight to end shark
finning, a cruel practice that occurs when fishermen catch sharks, cut off
their fins and throw the still-living animals back into the water where
they die slow and painful deaths...

of Statistics (PBS). In terms of quantity, the fish exports surged by 24.76
percent to 9,393 metric tons in July as compared to the exports of 7,529
metric tons in July 2012...

and instituted a minimum daily wage of 300 baht in the country...

tuna has a higher market value than pole and line caught skipjack...
