chain demanding fish workers' rights in Moheshkhali island of Cox's Bazar
district. Moheshkhali is the only island in Bangladesh with hills. Local
wing of BFWA organized the human chain with some specific demands like:
minimum wages for the fish workers, safety while fishing, appointment
letter from the boat owners etc. A mobilization of the fishworkers claiming
legitimate demands in a remote area like Moheshkhali is very rare in
Bangladesh. We have received huge responses from the various stakeholders
We are planning to organize local mobilizations regularly.
