civilian air traffic control screens off Malaysia's east coast less than an
hour after take-off early on March 8...

A moderate intensity tremor rocked the Great Nicobar Islands on Friday. The
quake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale hit the islands at about 07.08 pm
today. The epicenter of the tremor was reported at Lat. 07.7°N Long. 94.4°E
off the Nicobar group of islands at a depth of 10 kms, according to the
Indian Meteorological Department. However, no loss of life and property was
reported...

There is a piece of good news for hilsa fishlovers. You do not have to wait
till monsoon for this delectable fish anymore. India has started to import
hilsa fish from Myanmar and the first consignment has just landed in
Kolkata. Confirming the development, Syed Anwar Maqsood, secretary West
Bengal Fish Importers Association said "A 26 tonne container has just come
and other two containers of same tonnage are on the way. Hilsa fish is
produced in Myanmar during this time...

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa In a letter to Prime Minister Man
Mohan Singhe said the second round of talks between the Indian and Sri
Lankan fishermen can be held on March 25th only if all the arrested Indian
fishermen and their boats are released before that date. Citing the arrest
of 74 Indian fishermen belonging to the state and Puducherry by the Sri
Lankan Navy yesterday she said it is an extremely unfortunate episode...

Reket (52) sailed from Daman before arriving at Vasai on Wednesday

The Indian Deputy High Commissioner in Pakistan, Gopal Baglay, was summoned
by the Pakistan Foreign Ministry on Monday to lodge a protest over the

well within Pakistan territorial waters at Khajar Creek when they were

The second death anniversary of our NFF founder leader (Late) Mathany
Saldanha is to be observed in our NFF administrative office at Pondicherry,
tomorrow at 21st March 2014. The chairperson of NFF Mr. M. Ilango and other
office bearers of Pondicherry Fishworkers' Forum (PFF) will observe the
death anniversary by flowered tributes to the portrait of (late) Mathany
Saldanha unveiled in NFF office. The Pondicherry Fishworkers' Forum is to
feed the inmates of the mentally retarded home at St. Therese Street,
Pondicherry run by The Missionaries of Charity founded by the Nobel
Laureate Mother Theresa.

The distribution of the morning food to the inmates of the mentally
retarded home will be followed by a prayer by the inmates in memory of
(late) Mathany Saldanha in which the office bearers of Pondicherry
Fishworkers' Forum and other dignitaries also participate.
